Several Higher Ed Organizations in Philly Gather for #LaborSpring
Posted in In the News Labor Spring
On April 5th, Outside City Hall in downtown Philadelphia, over 50 workers and supporters gathered to speak up and speak out on the unjust conditions under which contingent faculty (part time and non-tenure track full time) work in higher education. Co-sponsored by both UAP and CCP, Each speaker highlighted precarity, lack of job security, lack of academic freedom, and the crisis of contingency in higher education underscored by their own insights and experiences.
Speakers included Nikil Saval (pictured above), labor champion and PA State Senator from Senatorial District 1.
