Spring 2014 Organizing Fellowship Now Open for Applications
Posted in Organizing Internship
Applications are now open for the KI Organizing Fellowship for spring 2014! The Organizing Fellowship places carefully selected student applicants with top local community and labor groups advocating for working people.
The paid fellowship provides an opportunity for students to observe the impact of community and labor organizing, support and contribute to ongoing campaigns and projects, and develop their own organizing skills throughout the course of the internship. Fellows will gain valuable skills for future work in movements and organizations dedicated to social justice and creating change.
KI will match fellows with the needs and resources of community groups. Once matched, the fellows will work with their community groups for 10-15 hours a week for the duration of the semester. Students will receive $12/hour and a $150 transportation stipend for their work. Fellows will participate in a training on Sunday, January 26, and facilitated reflection dinners during the course of the semester. A 1,000 word written reflection is due at the end of the semester.
Applications are due at 11:59 PM on January 22, 2014 to kilwp@georgetown.edu. For more information, please read the full description of the program. Please direct any questions to Nick Wertsch at 202-687-4987 or kilwp@georgetown.edu.
