WILL Empower is recruiting the next generation of apprentices, host sites, and members of its Emerging Leaders cohort for 2022.
The WILL Empower Apprenticeship Program is a multi-pronged initiative designed to identify, nurture, and train a new generation of women’s labor leadership. WILL Empower apprentices work in paid roles in areas including organizing, research, communications, politics, mobilization, and policy. Apprentices benefit from a formal mentorship program, with mentors both within and outside of the host organization, and participate in a WILL Empower training and gathering in September.
Prospective apprentices for Fall 2022 can find out more about the program here and apply here. Movement organizations considering hosting an apprentice can find out more here and fill out an application here. All applications are due by April 15, 2022. Apprenticeships last 3-12 months and pay starts at $18 per hour.
The WILL Empower Emerging Leaders Program convenes a dynamic and diverse cohort of activists to discuss and shape their leadership plans and trajectories. Together, the cohort works to cultivate political voice, enhance organizer sensibilities, provide peer-coaching and care/resilience accountability for one another. The program is open to activists who are a few years into their careers in the workers’ movement at unions, worker centers, research institutes, and other worker justice organizations . Find out more about the program and apply by February 23.
