Worker Power Coalition/Workers Rights Institute Hosts #LaborSpring Panel Featuring Workers from Starbucks and the Pittsburg Post Gazette

Posted in Labor Spring  |  Tagged , ,

Across the country, record numbers of workers are losing their fear, claiming their power and writing a new future for our labor movement. But too often, our laws fail to protect workers when they need it most – leaving them subject to rampant union busting, employer retaliation and other illegal tactics. Two courageous union activists describe what it’s like to fight for a voice at work, despite the limitations of our current labor law: Grace Zopelis, a Starbucks barista and Workers United member, and Natalie Duleba, a NewsGuild-CWA member who has been on strike from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

This Feb. 13, 2024 panel was sponsored by the Worker Power Coalition (new window), in collaboration with the Workers Rights Institute (new window) at Georgetown Law and Labor Spring 2024 (new window), a project of the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor.
