This February, The Kalmanovitz Initiative, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization and the United States Department of Labor hosted “Research to Action on Child Labour and Forced Labour” at the Capitol Applied Learning Labs. Organized by James Benton, who opened the event, the workshop welcomed over 60 in-person attendees with over 300 attending virtually worldwide. The ILO and DOL showcased the latest research on child labor and forced labor to galvanize action that accelerates progress in the elimination of child labor and forced labor. KI fellow Debbie Berkowitz served as a panelist discussing the rising child labor crisis in the U.S.
