Giving Back to KI

Dear Friends, Allies, and Alumni:

KI has been privileged to promote worker rights and economic justice since 2009.

We have introduced a new generation of students to the issues of labor and community organizing; served as a resource and advocate for workers on our campus; defended worker rights and immigrant rights in the D.C. area; incubated exciting projects to empower workers such as Coworker.org; convened workers, activists, and policymakers to address working-class concerns; and advanced innovative solutions for the labor movement such as WILL Empower and Bargaining for the Common Good.

Please consider supporting the KI’s work through a tax-deductible contribution:

  1. Visit Giving.Georgetown.Edu.
  2. Click Make a Gift on the top right hand corner.
  3. Choose whether you would like to make a one-time gift or a recurring gift.
  4. Under Selected Designations, copy and paste “Gift: BG200490 – Kalmanovitz Initiative” and indicate the amount of the donation to the right.
  5. Under Special Instructions, copy and paste “I designate my gift towards the Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor under the direction of Dr. Joseph A. McCartin. The KI’s Gift tag is BG200490.”
  6. Fill out personal information or make the gift anonymously.
  7. Click Next, then Submit Payment, and Confirm.
  8. Forward email receipt to KI Assistant Director Jessica F. Chilin (jfc83@georgetown.edu) for record-keeping and follow up.

We are also accepting donations for the Citizenship Scholarship, which subsidizes the cost of applying for citizenship and other immigration-related needs for Georgetown University campus workers.

Thank you for your support and all that you’ve already given to KI.

Georgetown University’s Kalmanovitz Initiative for Labor and the Working Poor develops creative strategies and innovative public policy to improve workers’ lives in a changing economy. The Initiative draws on Georgetown’s distinctive identity—its commitment to intellectual excellence, grounding in the Catholic and Jesuit traditions, history of inter-religious cooperation, global reach, and prominence as an arena of policy debate in the nation’s capital—to advance prosperity, broadly-shared economic justice, and respect for the dignity of labor.
